Bringing a bold, creative portfolio to life online
We were thrilled to partner with Lydia Brayshaw, a multi-talented performer and creative based in the UK, to design and develop a brand-new website that truly reflects her diverse talents and growing body of work. With a background spanning theatre, screenwriting, choreography and visual art, Lydia needed a home for everything she does – a single digital space that could evolve with her career and showcase her many creative threads.
A Clear, Flexible Website Structure
From the start, we knew this would be more than a standard portfolio. Lydia needed something that felt polished and professional but still had a creative spark – a platform she could be proud to share with casting directors, collaborators and fans alike.
The site was designed around four key sections: Actor, Writer, Dancer, and Artist – each with its own subpage, allowing Lydia to highlight specific work across disciplines. This structure not only helps visitors quickly navigate to what they’re looking for, but it also gives Lydia room to grow and update the site as her projects evolve.
The Process: Collaborative, Organic & Focused
We kicked things off with a discovery session to get a feel for Lydia’s vision and tone. She was clear from the outset that she wanted a clean, minimal design – something that wouldn’t overshadow her work, but still felt warm and inviting. We used lots of white space, subtle animation and an elegant type pairing to bring that brief to life.
Lydia supplied a wonderful mix of imagery, bios, and project write ups, which made our job easy. We pulled it all together with a responsive layout and an intuitive navigation setup to ensure the site performs just as beautifully on mobile as it does on desktop.
We also made sure to include a simple Contact page, plus a place for news and future blog posts should Lydia want to share updates or reflections on her projects.
What Makes This Project Special
Lydia’s site is a great example of what we love doing at Cal Sherry Creative – building flexible, thoughtful websites that can grow with a person or business. We didn’t want to shoehorn her into a one-size-fits-all template. Instead, we built something bespoke and reflective of Lydia’s creative identity – a space that feels personal, polished and professional.
